Daniel Hernandez
Chief Probation Officer
Daniel Hernandez has worked for the Orange County Probation Department for the last 30 years. He holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University. After beginning his career working the night shift at Juvenile Hall, he worked many assignments in the department as a correctional officer, probation officer, supervisor, and manager. He was the Director of Juvenile Hall for five years and Chief Deputy over the Juvenile Services Bureau before his appointment to Chief Probation Officer in 2022. He has long been a champion of detention alternatives, innovative and effective practices and maintaining Orange County Probation’s legacy as a leader in the probation services field.
